Thank you for using Deckzero, and we are so glad to see you here. Please read our terms and conditions before you continue to use our services.
Registering a Deckzero account to use our services, or simply visiting our website, indicates that you accept the terms and conditions (hereafter “Agreement”) in full. If you are an authorized representative of your organization, you represent to Deckzero that you have the authority to bind your organization to this Agreement.
We will also update this Agreement from time to time. For major changes you will be notified by online notification or email. By continuing to use our services you agree to the updated Agreement. If you reject any part of this Agreement you will unfortunately need to stop using our services.
1. Description of services
Deckzero offers users the ability to create "computational presentations". We allow you to build and run your own presentations, save them on the “cloud” and share them publicly, or privately with friends, colleagues and students.
2. User accounts
To register for a Deckzero account, you must provide a valid email address. You must be older than 18 years to register. If you are younger than 18, we would still be delighted to see you using our services - but you must get permission from your parent or guardian.
You may only set up one free account.
3. User-generated content and proper conduct
When you build a deck on Deckzero, you can set it as “Private (only me)”, which can be accessed only by yourself, or “Private link only”, which can be accessed by those who you choose to share with, by sending them a unique link. You can set it as “Team”, which can be accessed and edited by team members invited by you. You can also set it as “Public”, which will be searchable in Deckzero’s database, and accessible by other registered Deckzero users. They can view, comment, or “fork” the whole or part of your public decks.
We require that you name and describe your decks in a true and accurate way, in order not to mislead other users.
While using Deckzero’s services, you must comply with all laws and regulations. Deckzero cannot review all contents and monitor all activities generated by users. You are fully responsible for all contents and all activities that happen under your account. You content must not infringe all kinds of proprietary right of any third parties. If you spot any unauthorized activities under your account, you must report to Deckzero immediately.
You warrant that your decks don’t contain any spam or harmful code, such as, but not limited to, worm, virus, Trojan horses. You don’t advertise your decks by sending out spam links to newsgroups, email list, social media and by other improper methods.
Deckzero has the right to change or remove your decks, or even delete your account and refuse your future access to our website, with our own discretion, if we consider you generate improper decks, or conduct improper activities that are either listed or not listed above.
4. Rights you grant Deckzero
In order to host, publish and share your decks, Deckzero needs to obtain certain rights from you.
For decks you set as “private”, including “only me”, “link only”, “team” and “event”, you grant us world-wide, unrestricted, irrevocable, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferrable right to copy your content to our database and back up, analyze its content, and make it accessible, editable and “forkable” by users you share your decks with.
For decks you set as “public”, you grant us world-wide, unrestricted, irrevocable, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferrable right to copy your content to our database and back up, analyze its content, and make it accessible, and “forkable” by all other Deckzero users.
Your comments on any deck could be removed in any time, without compensation, at Deckzero’s own discretion.
5. Payment and renewals
For detailed pricing plans please contact us. When you purchase a plan, you agree to purchase the plan as detailed at the time of purchase. Subscription fees will be charged in advance on a monthly or annual basis, or one-off for “event” plan, and is not refundable. The payment will cover the use of the services included in the plan, for a monthly or annual subscription period, or the length of “event”, as indicated. There will be no refunds or credits for partial months or partial event length of services, upgrade or downgrade refunds, or refunds for months unused with a free account.
6. Intellectual property
Deckzero owns and controls all intellectual property rights of any kind related to Deckzero.com and our services, including but not limited to trademarks, logos, user interfaces, computer codes, decks, templates. We reserve all rights that are not expressly granted to you under this Agreement or by law. You may not duplicate, copy, or reuse any portion of the HTML/CSS, Javascript, or visual design elements or concepts without express written permission from Deckzero.
7. Copyright infringement
You warrant to Deckzero that you own all right, title and interest in your content.
If you find content on our website that violates your copyright, please contact us at support@edbr.co. Deckzero will respond within 14 working days.
Deckzero may, at our own discretion, terminate or suspend our service to users who infringe the intellectual property rights of others.
8. Termination of services
You agree that Deckzero may at our own discretion terminate your access to our website at any time, without reason, without notice, effective immediately, and block your future access.
If you wish to stop using our services, you can cancel your Deckzero account, or simply discontinue using our website. We will not delete content that you have contributed and have been forked by other users.
9. Warranty Disclaimer
The Site is provided “as is” and “as available”. Deckzero and our suppliers and licensors disclaim all warranties of any kind, including but not limited to, the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. While we try our best to make users contents available through our service, neither Deckzero nor our suppliers and licensors, makes any warranty that Decezero will provide error-free, timely, secure, continuous and uninterrupted access and services. Deckzero will not be liable to you for not providing access to our services, either temporarily or permanently, for any reason.
Neither can we guarantee that the information provided through the Deckzero is accurate, reliable or correct; that we will correct any defects or errors in time; that the content on Deckzero is free of viruses or other harmful components. You understand that you download from, or otherwise obtain contents or services through Deckzero at your own discretion and risk. You will be solely responsible for any damage to your computer and for any loss of data that results from obtaining contents or services from Deckzero.
If you are not satisfied with any part of Deckzero, you may stop using our services. We may change our services or features in any way, at any time, for any reason, with or without notifying you.
10. Limitations of Liability
You understand and agree that Deckzero, and our suppliers, licensors and distributors, will not be liable to you or any third party for any direct or indirect damages or loss incurred by you, including but not limited to profits, use, goodwill, data, or for any incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages.
This also includes, but is not limited to damages or loss result from the use, disclosure, or display of your decks; your use or inability to use Deckzero’s services; your failure to keep your account details, password, contact details and payment details safe; unauthorized access to or alterations of your transmissions or data; statements or conduct of any third party on Deckzero’s services; any other user interactions that you input or receive through your use of Deckzero’s services; any update, modification, price change, suspension, discontinuance or permanent termination of Deckzero’s services; corruption or failure to store any data maintained through the services; or any other matter relating to Deckzero’s services.
Our liability is always limited, whether or not we have been informed of the possibility of such damages, and even if a remedy set forth in this Agreement is found to have failed of its essential purpose.
Deckzero shall have no liability for any failure or delay due to matters beyond our reasonable control. To the extent permitted by law, Deckzero and its suppliers, distributors and licensors will only take liability limited to the amount you have already paid to us to use our services.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify Deckzero and our directors, employees, contractors, licensors, and hold us harmless from and against any and all claims, liabilities, and costs, including solicitors’ fees, arising out of your use of Deckzero’s services, including but not limited to your breach of this Agreement. Deckzero reserves the right, at our own expense, to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you.
If you have a dispute with other Deckzero users, you agree to release Deckzero from any and all claims, demands and damages (actual and consequential) of every kind and nature, known and unknown, arising out of or in any way connected with such disputes.
12. Miscellaneous
Deckzero’s terms and conditions embody the entire legal agreement between you and Deckzero. This Agreement, and any access to or use of Deckzero will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of United Kingdom, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes relating to these terms and conditions will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of United Kingdom.
If any part of this Agreement is held invalid or unenforceable, such part will be construed to reflect the parties’ original intent, and the remainder of this Agreement will remain in full force and effect.
